Sadly there are not any up to date mod reviews at the moment, if you make one contact me and i will post it here!
Notice: The mod connects to the internet to detect updates and also to allow a player count(which can be disabled).

With all the futuristic stuff added by Tekkit, the two go together about as well as peanut butter and jelly.
If you’ve ever wanted to go to the moon and build a colony there, you don’t need to find a series of different resource packs to help you accomplish the look anymore.
Important: If you download an old version of the Mod via the links, make sure, you install the appropriate Minecraft and Forge versions as well. Public Beta 1 Added the Middle-earth dimension Added Gold Rings for accessing Middle-earth Added a new alignment system Added five major biomes: the Shire, Misty Mountains, Rohan, Gondor, and Mordor Added new ores: Copper, Tin, Silver, Mithril, Naurite, and Morgul Iron Added bronze tools and armour Added mithril tools Added hobbits Added hobbit holes Added hobbit taverns Added hobbit pipes, pipeweed, and pipeweed farming Added hobbit ovens Added ale barrels Added lettuces Added Shire Pine trees and wood Added rideable horses Added orcs Added orc weapons and armour Added orc bombs Added the Morgul Crafting Table Added Mordor Rock, bricks, slabs and stairs Added Beacons of Gondor Added Gondor Rock, bricks, slabs and stairs Added structure spawner items Added many more new blocks and items, including chandeliers, hay bales, mugs of ale, and the sword Sting The update that started this Mod was Beta 1.
Many structures in Rohan, such as the Rohan Watchtower, were added.
The Elven Portal was also introduced, which meant that traveling back to the Overworld from Middle-earth was much easier now than before, when marches of several thousand blocks or more were needed to get back to the Ring Portal.
The mod is still in beta so loads is still being added and there are still bugs.
Also the progress bar isn't very accurate but I would say its how much core progress is done until the mod is out of its main development.
